Building The Art Garden
Located in the main street of Beverley Western Australia, Mandy has built an experiential indoor outdoor garden art gallery and workshop space
Looking for the Online Art Garden - check it out HERE
Come to Beverley to do an art workshop with Mandy - its wonderfully relaxing
There are places to sit outside where you can create art in the gorgeous surrounds of Mandys garden art with the gentle
sounds of the fountain and birds
Inside there is a 12 seater work table and a painting area where you can
get as messy as you like
As Mandy has built the sculpture garden she has developed a modular garden art collection perfect for the tiny back yards of modern homes
The garden are full of organic veges which I approach in the style I call Formal Permaculture - I collect the seed from the heritage plants and package them up
and one day we will offer workshop recipients a green smoothie and a freshly picked garden salad as part of the workshop day
The latest mediums Mandy has been exploring
During 2021-2022 the Art Garden progressed with heaps of fabulous workshops, and the development in the papercreting revealing how it can be curved and shaped
The curves continued into the garden landscaping, and things continued to grow
It was at this point I began the cement shed - using what I had learnt about the papercrete to begin rendering my work area at home
.
2023 so far has seen an increase in plasma cutting and experiments with welding
The Glarbecube is the first of a series of pavillions we are building on our property
The plan is to build 8 of them, each unique, in a checkerboard fashion at the front of the area we have designated for
the new studio/gallery
as we are developing it, new ideas are arising. Like how the pavillions can be used by caravans - so when workshoppers come to an art retreat -
they can bring their caravans and have a pavillion each
THE ART GARDEN GALLERY - 98 VINCENT STREET BEVERLEY W.A. 6304
Beverley is a town in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 133 kilometres south-east of the state capital, Perth, between York and Brookton on the Great Southern Highway.
I have lived here for about 6 years now, and I love it
There are big wide streets, no traffic, and its very relaxed and laid back -
It is a small population but there are a few galleries in the main street now, with more being built
I think it is because its a great place to make art
